German Events.

David and I have participated in two annual German events so far: The Flugtag & Oktoberfest.

Flugtag: means Flight Day or Airshow in German. It's an annual event, held in several major cities across the nation each year, where people craft things that they think will fly and then ride them off a ledge to see if they actually do. There are rules and regulations, such as; there must be a "pilot" on the aircraft that is willing to test it's flight capabilities by riding it off the ledge. You can image how entertaining this is to watch.
We drove to the one held in Dallas...
...with apparently everyone else.

 Does it fly?
 Nope.
How about a house?
 Nope. Not even close.
 Porta-potty...
 ..with wings...?
 Definitely not.
Flying shoe?
We sat on the edge of the lake watching the dances and sad attempts at flight. It was so much fun!

Then the next weekend was Oktoberfest at Sheppard AFB. They have a German Air Force squadron that puts it on, so you know it's authentic.
 It was a beautiful night!

After many hours of chatting with friends and dancing, David and I took a stroll to see the planes parked outside the hanger.

Not a bad way to start off our time in Wichita Falls :)
