My day started with a much needed two hour long "coffee date" over the phone with my mom. Usually we like to go out for breakfast but we settled for a sweet chat being 3,000 miles apart. While we were on the phone flowers she sent were delivered:
They were absolutely beautiful and true to tradition. Growing up for every birthday my mom sent flowers to my classroom, locker, or car (depending on my grade level). For some reason I wasn't exception to receive flowers so it was a warm surprise to get them on my door step. She has always been so wonderful at making birthdays feel incredibly special.
A couple hours later the mail arrived bring with it a sweet card from my grandpa and a gift from Carly.
My favorite surprise of the day was when David got home 1.5 hours early. He gave me my gifts early (because neither of us could wait) so when he arrived we got fancy and went out for dinner and a movie.
Del Rio is lacking in the "fine dining" department but we didn't mind. We enjoyed the evening just the two of us.
We caught the late night showing of Marvel's Avengers in 3D after supper and it was WONDERFUL! I'm a big superhero fan and I thought it was fantastic.
Want to know how blessed I am? VERY!
My family and David bought me this little baby:
If that wasn't enough David has truly set me up for success by buying me the "Complete Digital Photography" reference book. This book is chalk full of techniques and ideas to produce quality photos. Needless to say my photojournalism of our adventures will be much improved.
Thank you to all who have wished me a happy birthday and have gone (and continue to go) out of their way to make little ol' me feel so loved.
