A post for my mama-to-be friends!
Welcome to my nursery
Old dresser functions well as a changing table and is at just the right height. I've found that a soft lamp is far superior for helping my baby to feel sleepy during night time routine than the main light. (not pictures but priceless is a night light by the dresser for mid-night changing)
Changing table basket:
Lotion, lotion, and more lotion. My little one has Eczema so I know all about lotions. Cetiphil and Aquaphor tubs are for him, GermX and Burtsbees are for me after changing his diaper. CeraVe baby suncreen (for 6months +) is great with Eczema. Desitin for diaper rash with disposables only. Little blue stripe container has Coconut oil in it for bum cream with cloth. The peri bottle is a cloth wipe concoction. Q-tips for those hard to reach areas.
Inside the drawers
Top drawer:
Extra liners for a quick grab and change (when the liner is wet but the diaper isn't)
Fleece liners for using desitin or Aquaphor with cloth)

On the right is a pile of cloth wipes, some jersey cotton, some fleece.
Next drawer down are the diapers:
I have 3 stuffed for night-time on the far right and the rest for day time. I have about 20 and do laundry every other day.

(I cloth on the go as well and take with me a diaper for every 2 hours i'll be gone)
Also in the drawers are
PJ's,
shorts/pants,
linens,
with the top right drawer containing hygiene items, socks, and hats.
Function:
I have a hamper to the right and two garbage cans to the left. One can is for garbage including disposable wipes and diaps, whereas the one with a lid and wet bag are for cloth and soiled clothes. I've only needed two wet bags for the cleaning rotation.
The Closet:
Organization is key to my sanity so I have this walk in closet in tip top shape. There are many times I've had to "grab something real quick" and then i'm thankful for putting in the extra effort in making it functional. In the hanging shoe organizer I have Isaac's little shoes, meds, creams, disposables, extra things, and hats.
The items I'd be lost without are Little Remedies gas relief and Saline solution. I have a set in my diaper bag as well.
Hanging baby clothes by size is helpful with these closet dividers. I've learned that just because something says it's 6-9 months DOESN'T mean it fits my baby in that time. Therefore things that run small or have shrunk, even though claiming to be one size, gets put in the right category with these dividers. I do not wash all items before hanging. I only wash what baby is wearing, and then the next size up right before switching. That way I know what I've liked him wearing, what was too much work, how things fit, etc. I take back or gift out duplicates or things that just haven't worked for us (I have a chunky baby). I should add in here- remember items that are 100% cotton shrink so don't wait to wash 9 month cotton onesies when baby is almost out of 6 months clothes, they'll be too small.
With being around daddy's work, infant ear muffs are priceless. We've used these bad-boys on Isaac when we've been out shooting, during visits to dad at work, and last weekend when watching daddy's band play. Isaac can sleep through a party wearing them- best 25 bucks I've spent!
I never invested in a electric breast-pump and glad I didn't (my insurance doesn't cover it). This manual one with the two bottles it came with has been sufficient. I'd suggest anyone who plans on feeding on demand should wait to buy an electric until they see the need. This Lansinoh takes me about 5 minutes to fill 4 oz and I only use it about 2x a week.
Hope this post was helpful!
