Decorating a Cake

Our new neighbor spent her first birthday without her husband this last week. Alissa (my duplex neighbor) and I didn't want her to be without a Birthday Cake so we made her one and surprised her with it. 

Made a big mess, but it was necessary. 

Step one: Cover the cake with butter cream and "shell" the edges. 

 Then I added "pearls" along the edges

I added flowers on the top

  and Alissa wrote "Happy Birthday"

Not only was it fun to make but it was fun to give it to our new friend. Happy Birthday Tamarisk!
