It's not my favorite thing I've ever done but it's one of those "got-to-grin-and-bear-it" type of situations. Living in a beautiful new home WITHOUT any of your cherished items is very difficult. We don't have a washer/dryer to clean our clothes so we hand wash, we don't have dishes (aside from one pot and one pan) so we eat simple dinners, we don't have a chair, bed, hangers, cleaning supplies, TV, or towels so we sit on the floor and buy what we need and live without the rest. It's been quite the experience "living on love" and without the comforts most of us, including me before now, take for granted. We are a seriously spoiled civilization and are almost crippled by it when our things aren't within reach. Many have written about America not knowing hardship or having everything they want when other places are starving- that's not what I'm writing about. I'm writing a reminder of our blessings. Our things are blessings that God has allowed us to have and living without them reminds me of how much we have to be thankful for. It's no fun having all your belongings in an untrackable truck being driven by who knows who on a time frame of their own, so I focus on the positive and trust that God knows what we need even if it's uncomfortable for us.
Here are some updates: David has in-processed meaning the military knows we're here and has started the process of getting him connected in. He is working at the security gate entrance for his short term job before he leaves for Colorado in less then 3 weeks for flight screening. He should return in about 3-6 weeks depending on Colorado's weather and David's scores.
I have started classes with Liberty University and I already love it. Online school is different then what i'm used to but it's wonderful to have my own flexible schedule and learn at my own pace. I'm also loving that I don't have to drive 40 min to class every day like I did in Corvallis.

Zoe has no complaints what-so-ever! She has a big beautiful backyard to romp around in all day, plenty of dog friends to bark at, all kinds of strangers petting her, and lots of interaction with us (since we have nothing else to do). no furniture means no limits to where she can run in the house. It might be very entertaining when there are new obstacles in her running paths that she'll need to readjust to.
I can't wait to make this a comfortable home for living and entertaining but until then it's reading textbooks in the sun, throwing a ball for Zoe, and meeting new friends.
Stay Dry,
I feel you on the living out of a suitcase! You can do it! Thanks for the positive attitude and encouragement. It makes me remember all the blessings I have here too. =) Miss you friend.
