Isaac 1 & 2 months

Our life is still upside down and probably will be for the better part of this month (and the next as we start the Great Unpack). So that's my excuse for why this post is quite delayed. To be fair, I started working on it weeks ago but wanted to keep tweaking it until I had the right format which I plan to follow for each month. However, now i'm to the point where I just need to get out the post before Isaac turns 3 months, ah! I'm excited to tell you about this little boy and the joy he brings to our family hourly.

One month
Never mind that neither Zoe nor Isaac looks to be enjoying this photo session. We were almost done with our move across the country when Isaac turned four weeks old. I had originally planned on taking pictures with him next to the same item (like a basket or chair) each month to see how fast he grows. Unfortunately, Zoe was the only constant "item" we had with us on the move, so his size comparison picture was with her and will be from here on out. The two had not bonded yet so this was uncomfortable for them both.

Out-takes:
Zoe wants out...

About Isaac's first month:
Isaac learned to take a pacifier and bottle in the first week of life. He did amazing switching back and forth between nursing and the bottle. Isaac smiled in his sleep from 2 days on and voluntarily smiled by 2 weeks. By three weeks, he was smiling at our faces and knew both David and I's voice. He's been cooing and smiling at us ever since. Isaac went on his first road trip at three weeks and by the time he was a month old he had traveled through 10 states. On the road trip I was able to catch him rolling over back to front for the first time (in the back seat of the car). He hasn't done it since that day. This boy weighed in around 10lbs and was already out of newborn clothes and wearing his 3 month outfits. His favorite activity is "Squirm Time" where we would lay him on the bed and he would kick and kick until his little legs got tired.

 Two months
Isaac was in Colorado when he turned one month, and in Oregon when he turned two months.

About Isaac:
He is wearing 3-6 month clothes, weighs 13.6lb and is 24 inches long (he's in the 70th percentile for both). Safe to say, Zoe and he have bonded. She knows his name and will let us know if he's making unhappy sounds. Isaac thinks Zoe is funny, he watches her and smiles at her often. Isaac still LOVES to wiggle and gets several hours of squirm time in each day. He is working on mastering hands, but still can't quite control them. Isaac coos and jabbers at us all the time, his little voice is so precious. Isaac's favorite activity this month is bathing. He loves to combine his wiggle time with bath time- which makes for a wet mommy.

About Month Two:
Isaac celebrated his first Thanksgiving during his second month with his aunt MaKayla. A week later he met his grandma and grandpa Partin. We already know he's a well traveled baby and Isaac added two more states to his collection with his arrival to Idaho and a plane ride to Oregon for Christmas vacation. Isaac doesn't seem to mind the car or plane and sleeps through most of his travels. Isaac met most of his Michener family during his second month of life and added the Partin side three days into his third month.
