Alright so this post is dedicated to my lovely Carly girl who keeps me accountable to make blog post allowing loved ones to stay updated on our lives here in Texas. Lovingly, whenever it's been several weeks (sad to admit) of no Partin Life posting she calls saying, "Chels, I miss you blog!". It's not that there is nothing to blog, just that I don't have enough pictures of one event to make a whole post. SOOOOOO all excuses aside here is my smorgasbord of pictures/personal updates on things David and I have been apart of these last few months.
Darla girl (my foster puppy) was adopted Monday! She was given to a wonderful Air Force family with two kids. She with lack nothing and be smothered with attention--which she adores. She was amazing with kids so I feel that her home was the perfect match for her. Thank God for that provision and my peace of mind.

I've started a new class called Christian Counseling for Women and this in my text book. So far (3 weeks in) it has been amazing. The lectures are very insightful covering topics of health, beauty, finances and ministry to women. What has been really interesting is to learn how Jesus went against the grain and purposefully used women in parables and ministered to them when no other prophet in Bible times did. I've bought a copy for each of my gals in our woman's study in because I've enjoyed it that much.

End of November I'm heading to my girl friends wedding in North Carolina. I'm excited to be one of her bridesmaids and have enjoyed the planning process with her this far. I'm excited to say that I'm wearing this cute gray dress that I previously sported in the lovely Cross wedding but will alter it some with the help of a good friend here in Texas. Yesterday I planned her bridal shower and sent out the invitations above this morning. I'm very excited to help her feel like the special bride she is. A few of my girl friends and I needed to grab some things in San Antonio so we we made a trip of it. It was a much needed trip as one could tell by the loaded shopping carts. It's way more fun to be productive with friends!
We spoiled ourselves with Italian food after because there are zero Italian restaurants in Del Rio.

{My mom is probably the only person who could guess what I ordered to the left but it's my favorite dish!}
David and I got a root-beer float at the Emporium a few months back and I felt like it was a date straight out of the 50's. Even though cute venues like this are far and few between for "dates" David and I enjoy the ones we do have.

David ran a 5k last weekend with his flight-mates. It was a Del Rio event that benefited the local food shelter. I've always been intimidated by "runs" thinking they were for competitive runners only. This 5k was tons of fun and really not that difficult- I'll be sure to sign up for the next one. I also regret not getting Zoe in on it. She would have loved to run with David!
We have been blessed with some colder weather down here on the Mexican boarder. Temps have ranged from 80's to low 50's! I have only needed 1 of the 5 bags full of winter clothes but I'm itching to swap out the tanks for long sleeves as soon as we get those consistent low temps. It's still weird for this Oregonian to be in shorts early November and not freeze. I envy those of you who have a fire place to enjoy with a hot cup of tea!
David has flown his new plane now a few times and is really loving it. Being that it's a difficult air craft to fly it has presented all new and excited challenges for him. I can't wait to show you pictures of him soloing in a few short weeks!
Happy Fall!

Yay! Thanks for the update :) I'm so glad you get to wear that dress again, its so cute on you! It was one of my favs, especially when you added that cute sash. Can't wait to see how you alter it.
