Crafting: Oregon Glass

In college David gave blood and would get a pint glass as a thank-you for his pint of blood. He has colected several so far but unfortunately our dishwasher has washed off the paint on a few of them.

Fortunately, they only cost a little blood and we didn't like what was on the glasses that much anyways. This is the process of turning an OK beer glass into a fantastic beer glass.

Craft: Oregon Glass
A few printed off Oregon signs is what I used to gauge the size I would paint on the glass. I also use white and black high gloss glass paint.
I put the paper inside the glass making sure to put it straight across the glass so that the state would appear straight on the outside (instead of angling out like the star wars credits). *If your glass has straight sides this won't be necessary.

Now the fun part: painting. Thick coats are need, drying at least an hour between each. I did white first and outlined with black second
*Do not outline the shape in marker because the paint goes over anything on the glass and it will be seen from the other side of the glass.

Finished product: I put a star on the city David and I lived in.

I plan on doing this for each state we live in.

*cure the paint (set for 21 days) before washing the glass. Once cured the glass can go in the dishwasher on top rack.
